就像影評所說，, "If its fact-based story proves more fascinatingly outlandish than it's presented here, Operation Mincemeat remains an engaging and well-acted wartime drama."—大意就是說，這部片還算是演得不錯的戰爭片，只要可以再多一點「根據史實」的部分。
除了讚嘆竟是如此天馬行空的點子扭轉了歷史外，對兩位男主角也有些想法的：Colin Forth穿著海軍軍官大衣，真是帥到筆墨難以形容；另一位是曾以2005年的《傲慢與偏見》飾演Mr. Darcy而出名的Matthew Macfadyen，雖然聲音一樣好聽，但還是覺得當年選他當Mr. Darcy是個令人傷心的錯誤。
電影一開始和結束的旁白者，是由時任情報單位的海軍軍官Ian Fleming擔任。這位日後因為寫了十一本007 James Bond情報小說的名作家，除了將身邊的同事、上司作為故事的原型外[i]，甚至在當時的情報局工作時，還寫了影響深遠的情報工作指南[ii]，而這指南的第54條，就是《Operation Mincemeat》的發想源頭哪！
最後，學到mincemeat這字，查了描述和圖片，似乎較接近五仁月餅的範疇。是嗎？希望不是，否則少了期待品嘗的興致啊！
